I hope everyone is drying out from the wet weekend. At least it made for good college basketball watching weather. GO UCONN!!
Several things to update everyone on:
Don't forget as you work on your ED-244 to include funding for your CAACE Membership as well as next year's conference. See last week's MMM's for additional specifics or reach out to me.
Adult Education and Family Literacy Week-yes I know it's several months off, but we have started planning for an even bigger presence at the Capital. Remember it's an election year as well as a big budget year, so we need to ensure that our voices are heard. AEFLW week is September 16 - 20 and we will celebrate at the State Capital on Wednesday the 18th, from 10:00 - 12:00. Please budget funds to bus students and staff to the state capital to celebrate and advocate for our adult learners. Also if your program is planning to offer a Civics course or participate in an IELCE program, the capital visit will include tours of the capital which make for a great civics experience.
Last week several adult education leaders attended COABE. It was a great learning experience and we plan to share our learning with all. More information to come.
Our next CAACE Board Meeting is Friday May 10th, 10:00 - 12:00 in New Haven. Everyone is welcome to attend.
Our next CAACE Conference Committee meeting is Friday May 10th, 12:30 - 2:00 at New Haven Adult Education Center. All are welcome.
